Stonehenge’s secrets
Welcome to Stonehenge! The prehistoric monument was built 5.050 years ago, according to the course of the sun and the moon. The larger stones in the circle are Sarsen stones, brought from the Marborough Downs 19 miles (30km) away and the smaller stones, known as the Bluestones, are from the mystical Preseli Mountains in Wales, 240 miles (385 km) away. Researchers believe that the bluestones were healing stones, and that they were transported to Stonehenge because people believed they had a magical hability to cure.
